For me painting means living.
Painting supports me in finding my inner self, my feelings my fountain of strength. These emotions are the source and center of my paintings. I am driven by an inner longing to celebrate and give space to the entire range of emotions in all their veracity, liveliness and beauty: the heavy, intense but also the light and joyful sensations.
To me it is important to artistically put into painting the intense emotional states that I have experienced myself as well as the transformational processes, and make them visible and perceivable for the spectator. This perception can in itself have a transformational effect. My paintings touch, accompany and support knowingly or unknowingly.
In line with a prose contest for short stories “Stories Written by the Paintbrush” (2005) the journalist Joachim Wehnelt inspired himself with my paintings and wrote the following fairy tale “The Palace of Paintings”.
This fairy tale has touched me deeply and symbolically gives insight into the background and motivation of my painting.
